胭脂水釉为清宫色釉中最尊贵的品类之一，是瓷胎画珐琅的重要基本彩料
创烧于清康熙晚期，雍正乾隆时期盛行
其以金为着色剂，用吹釉之法施釉，经800℃低温烘烧而成，其色如仕女化妆所用之胭脂，故名。
又因其釉色似盛开之玫瑰花、蔷薇花，因此又有“玫瑰红”、“蔷薇红”之称。
深者为红，浅者为水。此罐色较深，红中泛紫，浓郁深沉，盖钮描金，罐底以孔雀绿釉浓彩装饰，更显华丽妩媚，宛若一位从宅院深处走出来的贵妇。
胭脂红丨成色难
在品种繁多、百花争艳的单色釉瓷中，胭脂红釉为清宫色釉中最尊贵的品种之一。
它以金为呈色剂，而金的呈色不仅与金的含量和釉的成分有关，对窑内温度、气氛变化和窑外天气也十分敏感，一旦温度和烧制气氛掌握不好，胭脂红色就会无法成色。
胭脂红丨烧制难
胭脂红烧制难度较高，工艺复杂，通常要四次进炉：一是素烧；二是釉烧；三是红烧；四是金烧。并有十窑九不成之说，大约平均烧制10个才能有1个成品。
胭脂红丨色釉贵如金
胭脂红所需的红釉是用珍贵的稀有金属——黄金烧制而成的，足显其珍贵之处。
