风水瑞兽之——狮子，镇宅辟邪
狮子为兽中之王，所以狮子有镇宅避邪的作用，而狮子又是吉祥如意的化身，所以有招财进宝的效用。
在中国传统的习俗里，每逢节日庆典舞狮助兴，可见中国人对狮子的重视！这主要是认为狮子不但避邪，而且可以带来祥瑞之气。狮子被公认为百兽之王，勇不可当，威震四方，故此自从唐代以来，中国人习惯在大门的两旁摆放石狮，用来锁宅治邪，使门外的邪魔妖怪不敢入屋肆虐，因此，在家中摆放狮子应是颇为有利的。由于人们不太了解，滥用风水法器及吉祥物，往往收到相反效果。必须在专业风水师的指导下摆放。才能起到事半功倍的效果。
因为每种狮子各有不同的用场，几句话难以说得清楚，静谊居士在此略示几点。
- 狮子宜放西北方
这样做的原因有二：一是因为狮子是从西域传入中国，所以西北方是它最熟悉，最活跃的方位，可以占得地利。二是因为狮子属乾卦，居西北方，五行属金，故此狮子摆放在西北方，最能发挥它的功效！除了西北之外，把狮子摆入在西方也颇为适宜。但中国大部分的官府大宅都是座北朝南的，大部分门口都摆放有一对狮子。因此，狮子摆在宅院的南方大门旁，也能起到避邪助运、吉祥如意的效果。
- 狮子宜配搭成双
摆放狮子必须要一对，一雌一雄这样配搭成双为宜。请注意要分清雌雄，左右不可倒置，若是分别不清，只要记住在摆放时，一对狮子是互相照顾，那便不会弄错。倘若其中有一只破裂，便应立刻更换一对全新的狮子，切勿把剩余的一只留在原处。
- 狮子必须向屋外，狮子的头部要向屋外，切勿向着屋内。原因是狮头向外，才可以阻止屋外的邪魔鬼怪入屋。所以自古以来，住宅或是衙门外边的石狮均是头部向外。若是狮头向屋内，非但不能治邪，而且还可能自己身受其害。所以狮头千万不可向着屋内，尤其是不可向着自己的房门。
狮子倘若放在屋内，最宜对着大门，望向屋外；若是摆在窗口，狮头亦要向着窗外。石狮可以放窗沿外边，但必须用水泥固定，以免跌落街中！若是放在窗内亦可，狮头须向外。
4、狮头大门可挡煞
狮子多是用来化解屋外的凶煞，若是不能在大门摆放石狮来坐镇，那便可在大门上加一金色的狮头，那亦可起到挡煞之效。
总的来说，狮子虽被视为瑞兽，有镇宅治邪的作用，但必须配搭成双，放在西北方最为适宜，并要紧记狮必须向外。
