相较于花鸟，瓷器上的人物故事尤为难画，除了人物表情、服饰的精细勾勒之外，还要很好地掌握留白、对称、结构，更见画师功力。陶冶图套组画面以景德镇一带的窑舍和劳作的工匠为主，施以浓淡不同的青花，构图丰满，线条流畅，绘工细腻。

圆器修模

碗、盘、碟称圆器。烧好后的成品因为窑火之故，会收缩，一尺之坯，得七、八寸之器。所以，制造圆器，必须先有模子。模子是拉坯时的样品，要修改、试烧数次才能做好。模工需熟悉窑火，泥性，方能计算加减以成模子。景德镇模具名手不过二、三人而已。画面上，中间一人正在操作，旁坐一位谢顶白髯老者正在指点。

圆器拉坯

圆器用轮车拉坯。就器之大小，又分为两种办法。大者拉一至二尺之器，小者拉一尺以内之物。在一只大木盘下设轴即是轮车，另有工匠将练好的泥置于车盘上，拉坯工坐于车架上，以竹竿拨动木盘飞快转动，然后以手按泥，随手法的屈仰收放，按模子的样式，以目测定款式、大小，不差毫厘。

图中人物数量众多，动作姿态各异，神情生动。将制瓷的详尽工艺尽纳方寸杯盏之间，实为精妙。
