仿元青花会有微微晕散，但细节并不含糊的特点。此款缠枝麒麟杯不仅在麒麟的鳞、须、鬃、尾，能看得分明，通景满画的缠枝藤蔓、花瓣，以及山石的分水都清晰可见。内画蓝地八瓣多宝如意轮花，反白图案呈现也很完美。说到仿元青花，麒麟纹也是从那时开始的。不过麒麟的起源倒是很久远了，传说孔子出生之前，有麒麟在他家院子里“口吐玉书”，而在孔子去世前又写到，“唐虞世兮麟凤游，今非其时来何求？麟兮麟兮我心忧。”不久孔子便去世了，所以麒麟被视为儒家的象征，深受古代文人推崇，尤其帝王将相、大儒大雅之家，必见麒麟形象。作为四灵之一，民间一直有“麒麟出没，定有祥瑞”的说法。认为麒麟主太平、长寿，能镇宅化煞、转运旺财、送子佑子等吉祥寓意。
